Let's see how this goes.
Maybe too much about Newgrounds makes me wary if not downright distressed, but this is one of the few places on the web were artists aren't competing with bots and AI-generated garbage for real people's views and reactions.
I'm blocking the background image so I don't have to see the extreme cartoon violence and gore that pops up there sometimes. Same for user level icons. When my level changes, I can choose an icon that's not overly aggressive to be public-facing. My browsers all block ads; hopefully, everyone else's do, too, or the ads here are relatively free of threats.
My user block list is going into two pages. I'll keep blocking homophobic jerks, obvious racists, and neo-Nazis as I come across them.
Why? Why do this?
 I want to is all.
There are moments of delight here. I want to find out if there can be more.

Welcome back, shadowfals.
As long as they are logged in, supporters such as yourself aren't shown any ads on Newgrounds. My browser window is so narrow that I couldn't comment on the degree of violence in the background images because I haven't seen them.
I understand and respect your concerns about the user level icon, but unless I misunderstand you, you are already able to change your icon by clicking on it while looking at your profile page or News Posts, etc. Unless you hit Level 48 (Necronomicon) or Level 50 ("We have such sights to show you!") in "a few" years, the fabulous Level 1 lollipop is probably the safest choice.
I do 'not' know if that choice is reverted to your regular Level icon once you no longer support NG financially.
When is comes to 'problematic users' nowadays I'd say we have mostly idiots, a few people who are far too obsessed with how other people's personal relationships look like, and some trolls. If you see other users spew homophobia, racism, use swastikas, or do other unacceptable things, please also report them. You can either use the little [Flag]-button (if there is one) or send a PM to Tom Fulp, the creator of Newgrounds ( https://tomfulp.newgrounds.com/ ).
You can spare others having to go through the same stuff and there's a good chance such an account will be deleted. From personal experience I can say that the chance is about a 100% when they openly attack other users more than once. Your words will not fall on deaf ears.
If you're not sure what 'is' and 'isn't' okay to flag, you can find helpful guidelines here, here, and here:

I hope I could put your mind at ease a little, while I was drowning you in words. ;3
Enjoy your stay.

Thank you for the welcome back.
I'm not sure my reporting past behavior has done anything, which is I usually block and move on instead of report. That's except when there's too much at once and gets me looking for the flag to click. Complaining about offensive stuff being left up is against the rules, tho. I'll just keep a bit of my guard up whenever I'm here, especially when I'm reading old posts.
