I remember: the '80s and '90s weren't simpler times. Anyhow, I'm here in 2025, mostly with pixel art and illustrations. This year's art goal is to create a fantasy visual novel or game for ages 17+ or only for me, depending on how sites hold up.

Itch.io's Indexing

Posted by shadowfals - 2 days ago

For the first time ever, all of my projects on Itch.io show up in that site's searches.

I currently have five projects up: two pixel art tile packs (free with the option to donate), two short ebooks, and a narrative game (free, simple browser thing).

I wasn't given an explanation for why "Little Red's Hoodie" was excluded from search results for three months.

Yeah, notice how it wasn't reindexed; its unindexed state predates the mass shadowban bizarrely blamed on the Australian Collective Shout.

The "Aethereal" asset pack also hadn't been indexed before. But that rainbow-displaying set was hidden for only about 18 days and likely was caught up in whatever was going on during Itch.io secret(?) talks with VISA/Mastercard.

Anyhow, I'm working on another narrative game that should be available this month.

"Interactive fiction" is a more accurate term, but that's surprisingly difficult to fit into sentences.
